Mayon Golf Course Local Rules
Out of Bounds (OB) carries a two-stroke penalty, while Penalty Areas carry a one-stroke penalty.
1. Out of Bounds (OB) and Penalty Areas
The following boundaries define areas where a penalty is incurred.

2. Relief and Special Procedures
A. Penalty Relief (Lateral & OB)
- Lateral Penalty Areas: Players may take relief by dropping a ball within two club-lengths of the entry point, no nearer the hole (1-stroke penalty).
- Out of Bounds (OB): Relief may be taken using the same lateral procedure as a penalty area, but with a 2-stroke penalty.
B. Obstructions and Ground Under Repair (GUR)
- Cart Paths: Free relief is granted if the ball lies on the path or the path interferes with the player's stance or swing. Drop within one club-length of the nearest point of complete relief, no nearer the hole.
- Ground Under Repair: All designated GUR areas around the green are relief areas. Players may drop the ball within the same area, no nearer the hole, for free relief.
- Ditches and Natural Obstructions: For interference by ditches or obstructions within the fairway, players may take relief within two club-lengths or to the nearest point of complete relief for swing and stance (1-stroke penalty).
C. Fairway and Bunker Conditions
- Preferred Lies (Fairway): If a ball is "stymied" or in an unfavorable lie on the fairway, a player may move the ball up to one scorecard length in a semi-circle, no nearer the hole.
- Bunker Maintenance: A player may mark the ball’s position, lift it, smooth the sand/repair the bunker, and replace the ball on the original spot without penalty.
